The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), has presented award letters to 200 successful candidates for its 2024/2025 foreign post-graduate scholarship programme.
Addressing the scholarship recipients in Port Harcourt, the Chairman of the NDDC Governing Board, Mr. Chiedu Ebie, expressed gratitude to Dr. Samuel Ogbuku, MD/CEO of NDDC for making the process a success.
His words, “We were here 8 months ago for the 2023/2024 foreign postgraduate scholarship program and we are here again today.
“I wish to express my gratitude to the Managing Director/CEO and his team for facilitating a seamless process.”
He urged the beneficiaries to always abide by the regulations no matter where they travel to.
Making a presentation during the event, the NDDC Managing Director, Dr. Samuel Ogbuku, charged the beneficiaries to be good ambassadors of the Niger Delta and Nigeria at large.
He assured the scholars that funds for their fees and accommodation would not be delayed.
He stated that their success was a testament to their resilience.
Further admonishing the recipients, Ogbuku said, “You need to come back and add value to the society and make the Niger Delta proud.”
In his opening remarks, Dr. George Uzowanne, the Director of Education, Health and Social Services NDDC, disclosed that out of the 56,000 applicants, only 200 were selected via a transparent electronic application procedure.
“I want to congratulate the successful candidates who applied and went through a seamless selection process,” he noted.
