Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Dr. Samuel Ogbuku, has explained that the forthcoming Niger Delta Stakeholders Summit will focus on developing strategies for the economic growth and development of the oil-rich egion.
This was revealed via a statement issued by the commission’s Director of Corporate Affairs, Seledi Thompson – Wakama on Monday.
According to the statement, Ogbuku emphasized the importance of tailored plans for renewed hope and highlighted the necessity of active participation from the people in the development process.
He also stressed the importance of practicing participatory democracy to ensure a proper understanding of policies and programmes by both leadership and followers.
The NDDC boss further mentioned that President Bola Tinubu has directed the NDDC to complete and commission signature projects aimed at improving the lives of the people in the region.
The summit is scheduled for July 10-13, 2024.
Meanwhile, according to the statement, the Commission recently inaugurated five flagship projects, including roads, bridges, and electricity facilities, across the region.
