Bayelsa council boss Karika thanks Diri, others as he bows out

The outgoing Chairman of Brass Local Government Area, Hon. Hanson Alabo Karika, has expressed gratitude to Governor Douye Diri of Bayelsa State for appointing him to lead the council area for nine months.

Karika in a statement sent to journalists on Monday also thanked the deputy Governor, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo as well as Brass stakeholders for their immense support.

He equally thanked the council workers and the entire people of Brass LGA for their support given to him throughout his interim administration.

“Your Excellency Sir, I want to profoundly thank you for finding me worthy to be a Caretaker Chairman in Brass LGA.

“It was a big privilege to serve my people, a privilege I never took for granted and did the best I could to improve, unify as well as exercise the powers attached to my office to the benefit of all Brassians,” Karika said.

He, once again, congratulated the incoming executive chairman, Hon. Lucky Febo, and his vice, Mrs. Russia Julie, as well as all the newly elected councillors.

Karika expressed belief that the new council leadership which will be inaugurated today will perform above par and prosper the people of Brass in line with the Governor’s vision.

He urged the people of the area to give Febo and his team the needed support to succeed in their mandate.
