ITF: Bayelsa State government partners institution to establish Model Skills Training Center

Abuja—A delegation from the Bayelsa State Government on Thursday 29th, July 2021, paid a visit to the Director-General and Chief Executive of the Industrial Training Fund (ITF), Joseph N. Ari at the ITF office in Abuja.

The visit was necessitated by a motion raised in the House of Representatives by Hon. Preye Oseke, member representing Southern Ijaw Federal Constituency, for the establishment of a Model Skills Training Centre (MSTC) in the South-South geopolitical zone at Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.

It was gathered that, when established, the MSTC will boast of a mechatronics department, autotronics laboratory, industrial automation laboratory, fluid power lab, CISCO networking academy, PC support, project laboratory, java programming, internet application laboratory, electronics and a computer networking department.

Others include an electrical & electronic principles and analogue electronics laboratory, pipeline installation workshop, integrated building management /workshop, commercial air-conditioning systems workshop, mechanical service workshop, fire safety and protection systems workshop, amongst others.

The Bayelsa State Government delegation comprised of Hon. Preye Oseke and the Commissioner of Agriculture and Natural Resources, Hon. David Alagoa.
