Bayelsa govt suspends three media aides for alleged misconduct

Yenagoa—Three members of the Bayelsa Government New Media Team have been suspended for three months for misdemeanor, insubordination and gross misconduct.

The suspended members of the social media team are Innocent Jumbo, Givson Kenigbolo and Adu Oyaba all from Yenagoa Local Government Area.

An inside source who craved anonymity told Mangrovepen.ng that the suspended members were punished on account of their social media activities, which include making posts that attacked two leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state.

According to the source, their activities on social media have attracted negative media attention to the state government.

The source added that “the suspension will be a lesson to many as there is no room for crass indiscipline.”
