Bayelsa Govt. debunks claims of interference in Sagbama Youth Federation election

Yenagoa—The Secretary of the Bayelsa State Centre for Youth Development, Ayebakuro Igbeta, has debunked claims of meddling in the internal process of the Salga Youth Federation election.

In a statement sent to Mangrovepen.ng, Igbeta expressed shock that such lies are being allowed to fester because of dislike for the Senator Douye Diri-led government.

Igbeta, who described as concocted lies the claim that he plans to camp delegates for the upcoming Salga Youth Federation election, noted that the issue is too trivial for the governor to lose sleep.

“We do not ordinarily respond to cheap blackmail and street gossips, but are pushed by the desire to set the records straight, to allay the fears that may surge as a result of the baseless murmuring,” he said.

He explained that the youth development centre only called for a meeting with youth presidents in Sagbama local government area, because of the need to ensure peace caused by the constant bickering amongst some youths.

He pointed out that the meeting became imperative due to the recent violence that occurred during the Southern Ijaw Youth Federations election.

Mangrovepen.ng gathered that one Comrade Ouseibai Seperegha Godsgift, had accused the Bayelsa State Centre for Youth Development of trying to influence the result of the upcoming Salga Youth Federation election by camping all youth presidents who serve as delegates.
