My representation will focus on entrepreneurship, youth empowerment, says Bayelsa assembly aspirant

Yenagoa—Ineye Appah, an aspirant vying for the Yenagoa Constituency II seat in the Bayelsa State House of Assembly, has promised to make entrepreneurship and youth empowerment the fulcrum of his representation if voted into power.

Appah who hails from Ikibiri community in Yenagoa Local Government Area of Bayelsa State made this known in a chat with our reporter on Tuesday.

According to him, although the primary responsibility of a lawmaker is to make laws, he will use his office to attract entrepreneurship training for youths in his constituency.

“It’s sad to mention that most of us are used to this dependency syndrome. So I’ll be focused on eradicating the syndrome among today’s youth especially those from the Gbarain/Ekpetiama axis.

“My vision is to make every youth independent. Aside from oil and gas, there is wealth around us and I am committed to helping the youths harness them,” he said.

Appah who is a businessman and the Chief Executive Officer of Atoms Trading pledged to open a constituency office that will entertain suggestions, proposals and complaints from his constituents.

Speaking about the issue of annual flooding in the constituency, the youthful aspirant promised to “engage companies especially the oil and gas firms doing business there to commit resources towards mitigating it.”

The House of Assembly hopeful assured the people of Yenagoa Constituency II of economic independence, growth and development if voted into power.

He equally urged youths not to be swayed by money during the election.

“I am calling on the chiefs, elders and youths of Yenagoa 2 to support me to victory so that we can use the legislative power to attract developmental projects and empowerment materials that will change our fortunes for good.”
