Nigeria’s Oil Minister, Dr. Heineken Lokpobiri, has explained that the Petroleum Industry Stakeholders Forum (PISF) is a move to consolidate the achievements recorded in the country’s petroleum sector last year.
He explained that the forum which is to engage in critical discussions aimed at charting a collaborative course for driving sustainable growth within the industry is important to improve deepening synergies with every stakeholder across the upstream, midstream, and downstream sub-sectors.
This was contained in a statement by the minister on Thursday.
“In consolidation of the achievements recorded in our petroleum sector last year, we are starting this year by deepening synergies with every stakeholder and player across the upstream, midstream, and downstream sectors.
“To this end, I convened the Petroleum Industry Stakeholders Forum (PISF) to engage in critical discussions aimed at charting a collaborative course for driving sustainable growth within the industry.
“At the forum, I emphasized the transformative measures the industry has experienced under the #RenewedHope administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
“These measures have catalyzed significant growth and economic stability for the nation, fostering an enabling environment for innovation and investment,” Lokpobiri stated.
The minister further acknowledged the contributions of stakeholders in the success of the petroleum industry in the preceding year.
He said, “However, these successes would not have been possible without the invaluable contributions of stakeholders whose collaborative efforts have been instrumental in achieving these milestones.
“It is on this foundation of collective effort that I proposed enhanced collaboration across all sectors – policy formulation, operational strategies, and key industry projections – eschewing isolated approaches.”
The former senator further urged that “by working together, we can simplify Mr. President’s vision of an autonomous, self-sustaining petroleum sector while ensuring the industry continues to flourish.”
