Bayelsa monarch and philanthropist, HRH Samuel Sambo, has pledged to rehabilitate some old structures as well as ensure the constant supply of water in the hostels of the Bayelsa State School of Nursing, Tombia-Ekpetiama, Yenagoa.
The traditional ruler who also promised to award scholarships to deserving students of the institution made the pledge when a delegation from the school led by its provost, Kenneth Belibodei Wasini, visited him at his office in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
While Speaking, Kenneth revealed that the purpose of the visit was to solicit support from the traditional ruler on some needs of the institution.
“The purpose of our visit was to solicit support in areas of concern in the institution such as dilapidated and inadequate hostel spaces, beds and mattresses, electricity, water supply, inadequate classroom, desks and chairs, inadequate office space,” he said.
Responding, the monarch pledged to do support the school in areas of water supply and building of school hostels via his nonprofit organization, Sambo Foundation.
He added that scholarships would also be awarded to students of the institution.
The school’s delegation further lauded the monarch’s reception and hospitality as well as his generous contributions to the wellbeing of students and across different institutions in the Niger Delta region via his foundation.
