Encomiums as HRH Sambo gives N250,000 each to 21 students from Bayelsa, Rivers

Port Harcourt—As part of his educational support programme for students in tertiary institutions, HRH Samuel Sambo, Amadabo of Sambo Ama in Twon Brass Kingdom of Bayelsa State, has given N250,000 each to 21 students drawn from
communities in Bayelsa and Rivers States.

The lucky students who were randomly selected for the 3rd batch of the scholarship scheme were given bank cheques to pay their tuition and other fees for this year’s academic session, just like the 1st and 2nd batches.

Mangrovepen.ng gathered that the event happened at the corporate headquarters of Irad Investment Limited, a business conglomerate owned by the monarch, in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

Speaking to our reporter after receiving the bank alert, one of the scholarship beneficiaries, Christopher Omubo, expressed gratitude to God and the philanthropic traditional ruler for coming to his assistance.

Mr. Omubo, a 200-level Political Science Student at Benson Idahosa University, recounted the monarch’s act of benevolence towards him and prayed for God’s wisdom, knowledge, and divine direction over his life.

“I just want to use this medium to express my heartfelt gratitude to God and His Royal Highness for always coming to my rescue whenever I make calls for assistance. Beyond that, the respected monarch has also been calling to inquire about my welfare and that of my family.

“I also pray for God to protect and constantly grant my Daddy divine direction, wisdom, knowledge and understanding as he breeds the next generation of leaders via this laudable scholarship scheme, which is equal to none in our clime.”

Barr. Nyanate Fatoki, a master’s degree student at Niger Delta University, also expressed delight over the scholarship, adding that she is motivated and fulfilled as a result of the monarch’s goodwill.

According to her, “I want to immensely thank HRH Samuel Sambo, Sambo X of Sambo Ama for the great benevolence.

“Despite his many commitments he still made resources through this scheme to uplift those of us in academic pursuit. I’m indeed grateful for this benefit. May God Almighty continue to uplift and increase him in all spheres of life.”

Also speaking, Mr. Temple Sambo Jnr, who is an aide of Sambo, told our reporter that the monarch derives pleasure in helping others, hence his sponsorship of the scholarship scheme.

“My principal, His Royal Highness, believes that the younger generation of Nigerians who are pursuing education need to be encouraged to succeed and become productive members of society,” he added.

He hinted that 61 students have so far benefitted from the scholarship scheme, assuring that more students from the Niger Delta region will benefit in subsequent batches.
