S’court victory is for Bayelsa—Prosperity Cup organizers congratulate Diri, Ewhrudjakpo

The central organizing committee of the Bayelsa Governors football tournament also known as the Prosperity Cup, has congratulated Governor Douye Diri, and his deputy, Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, on their victory at the Supreme Court.

The Director General of the Prosperity Cup, on behalf of the committee, said the victory was long-awaited, as the governor’s success in the last gubernatorial poll was undeniable.

This was contained in a statement on Friday by Mr. Ono K. Akpe.

While stating that he was not surprised by the judgment of the Supreme Court, Akpe noted that Diri has already won the hearts of Bayelsans, hence their undiluted love and support for him.

While stressing that the victory is for Bayelsans, he said the people are confident and comfortable with their leader, whose efforts, especially in the area of sports, have elevated their personal status and dreams.

His words, “This landmark victory is a testament to the leadership and vision of Governor Diri and Deputy Governor Ewhrudjakpo, and we are honoured to have them as patrons of the Prosperity Cup.

“The Prosperity Cup is more than just a football tournament; it’s a symbol of unity, progress, and prosperity for Bayelsa State.”

“Under the leadership of Governor Diri and Deputy Governor Ewhrudjakpo, we are confident that the state will continue to thrive and reach new heights.

“We celebrate this victory with the Governor and Deputy Governor, knowing that their dedication to the development of Bayelsa State will continue to inspire and empower our youths.

“We look forward to continuing our partnership with the Bayelsa State Government to promote football development and youth empowerment in the state.
