Convener of Niger Delta Rural Women for Sustainable Development (NDRWSD), Hon. Helen Bob, has sent a congratulatory message to Governor Douye Diri of Bayelsa State over today’s Supreme Court ruling affirming his reelection.
While commending the ruling, the women advocate said the judgement is in line with justice and a testament that Diri was duly re-elected.
She made this known at a media parley in Yenagoa shortly after the supreme court verdict.
Helen Bob felicitated Diri and wished him a peaceful second term reign for the governor.
She noted that the majority of Bayelsans who threw their weight behind the governor during the election will be elated with the apex court ruling.
The Bayelsa politician expressed hope in the Governor’s ability to deliver the dividends of democracy to Bayelsans as he had promised during the campaigns leading up to the elections.
Describing him as a gender-friendly governor, Helen Bob also thanked Diri for appointing women into several critical positions in his government.
