‘It’s a privilege to serve in your govt’, Domkpee thanks Diri, deputy for appointment

Yenagoa—Mr. John Domkpee, special assistant to Governor Douye Diri on New Media, has expressed gratitude to his principal and his deputy, Sen. Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, for the opportunity to serve in the self-styled prosperity administration.

Domkpee who said 2023 was his best year so far, noted that he is happy to be playing a part in a government he said is transforming Bayelsa state rapidly.

In a statement he signed and made available to newsmen on Wednesday, the media aide stated that the best part of 2023 was the re-election of his principal in the November 11 Bayelsa guber election.

He said, “The opportunity and privilege given to me by the Prosperity Government has to say the least made life more meaningful.

“Last year was a huge success and the best year I have ever seen. I am ecstatic to be playing a critical role in a government that is rapidly transforming Bayelsa and significantly prospering the people of the state.

“One good thing about last year was that, despite the ill-fated ambition and antics of the undemocratic forces, my boss, the miracle governor, was successfully reelected.

“It gives me great joy that the developmental journey Bayelsans are embarking on will continue for another four years under Diri.”

The governor’s aide further thanked some of those he said add so much value to the administration.

“Let me at this point, in no particular order, thank the acting chief of staff government house, Dr. Peter Akpe, political adviser to the governor, High Chief Collins Cocodia, director of domestic government house, Barr. John Sambo and members of the state executive council for effortlessly supporting the governor and his deputy to succeed.

“I also thank the chief press secretary, Mr. Daniel Alabrah, the director of new media, Dr. Kolawole Oredipe, the commissioner for water resources, Hon. Kemebradikumo Wariebi and my fellow appointees for the amazing work they are doing in this administration.

“The greatest thanks go to eligible Bayelsans who voted for the continuity of peace and prosperity,” he stated.

Domkpee also expressed the confidence that “Bayelsans will enjoy more dividends of democracy in the next four years under Governor Diri whom I believe has already written his name in the annals of history as a development champion of Bayelsa and indeed the Ijaw Nation.”
