Glory Drive carriageway: Diri knows the needs of Bayelsans, says Domkpee

Yenagoa—The Bayelsa State government led by Senator Douye Diri has been commended for prioritizing the execution of road infrastructure across the state.

Mr. John Domkpee, a special assistant on new media to the governor, gave the commendation following Thursday’s commissioning of Phase II of the 10.2km Glory Drive dual carriageway by the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar III, in Yenagoa.

He said the Diri-led government has done well in its construction of roads across the state given that Bayelsa State lacks road infrastructure.

The just-completed Glory Drive dual carriageway will meet the transportation needs of residents as well as open up the city and decongest traffic, he noted.

The governor’s new media aide stated that the commendation of the self-styled prosperity government by the Sultan is a testament to Diri’s commendable performance in his first stint in office.

According to him, “It’s a thing of joy that the Bayelsa State Government ably led by H.E. Senator Douye Diri has completed Phase II of the 10.2km Glory Drive dual carriageway in Yenagoa.

“Bayelsa being a relatively young state needs good roads, thus it’s commendable that the Prosperity Administration has prioritized the provision of road infrastructure across the state.

“The new road commissioned by the Sultan of Sokoto, His Eminence, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar III, will meet the transportation needs of residents.

“Essentially, the dual carriageway will open that part of the capital city and help to decongest traffic as well.

“Yesterday’s commendation from the Sultan of Sokoto, who is one of the most prominent and respected Nigerians, is evidence that Governor Diri has done marvelously well and deserves a second stint in office.

“The Governor knows the dire needs of the Bayelsa people and he is making relentless efforts to meet them with no form of nepotism.

“His dream is to ensure that communities in Bayelsa Central, Bayelsa East, and Bayelsa West experience peace and the same pace of development.”

Domkpee expressed the belief that “there is no better person to rule Bayelsa at this point in history, given the Governor’s leadership qualities, patriotism, hunger for development, and zero tolerance for violence.”

He prayed for God’s strength for Diri to continue performing well and for Bayelsa State to continue enjoying peace and prosperity.
