Bayelsa has become the envy of all—Domkpee extols Diri for achievements

The Special Assistant to the Bayelsa State Governor on New Media, Mr. John Domkpee, has said his principal, Governor Douye Diri, is a blessing to the state.

Domkpee made the remarks on Monday while making an appraisal of the Diri-led Prosperity administration in the last five years.

He extolled Diri for taking what he described as a “strategic bold step” to link Oporoma, Brass Island, Agge, and other coastal communities in the state via road.

He said the infrastructural projects embarked upon by the administration are huge investments that will yield economic benefits to the state in the future.

Domkpee specifically noted that the Nembe-Brass road when completed will open up Bayelsa East as well as help boost tourism in the state, especially with the famous Okpoama beach made easily accessible.

Describing the Bayelsa State helmsman as a forthright leader, Domkpee maintained that the South South state is blessed to have him as Governor.

He also averred that with Diri, Bayelsa has become the envy of all states in the country, considering the peace and countless people-oriented projects executed by the state government.

“I am happy that well-meaning Bayelsans recognize the immense efforts His Excellency is making to rapidly transform every nook and cranny of the state.

“When making an appraisal of Governor Diri’s almost near-perfect reign for the last five years, one has to without hesitation mention the three senatorial roads the government has embarked on.

“Amongst other things, the roads will boost the urbanization plan as well as economically make the state viable which will in turn yield more benefits to the people.

“The Nembe-Brass road which is a landmark and flagship project of this administration when completed will bring about more development in that part of the state and will as well unlock the enormous tourist potentials of the Brass island,” Domkpee partly said.

He further lauded his principal for his investment in sports, noting that Bayelsa state has become the number one state in sports in the country.

While applauding the governor for his efforts in other sectors including agriculture, education, Domkpee lauded the Diri-led Bayelsa State government for its effort in ensuring the restoration of light to Yenagoa after four months of blackout.

He maintained that without the state government’s efforts, the restoration of power “could have taken a significantly longer time given the laxity of the federal government and Transmission Company of Nigeria, TCN, to do the needful.”

He equally hailed Diri for the peace and security in the state, adding that the decision to create a local security outfit so far is proving to be the right move.

According to him, the move has also created employment opportunities for youths who are now engaged and are contributing their quota to the development of their state.

Domkpee further thanked Bayelsans for their overwhelming support for the self-styled Prosperity Administration in the last five years.
