Johnny Jonathan-led OBYC to hold Ogbia Summit on September 23

Ogbia—The Ogbia Brotherhood Youth Council (OBYC) led by Comr. Johnny Jonathan is set to host the maiden edition of the Ogbia People Summit tagged “Collaborative Action for Peace and Sustainable Development.”

The summit is scheduled to be held on Saturday 23rd September 2023, at 10:00 AM at the Ogbia Brotherhood Hall, Ogbia Town, in Ogbia Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.

The event will have many dignities in attendance including the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Chief Samuel Ogbuku as the guest speaker, former President Goodluck Jonathan as the special guest of Honour and Dame Patience Jonathan as the mother of the day.

This was contained in a press statement issued on Friday by the Chairman of the media and publicity sub-committee for the Ogbia Summit 2023 central planning committee, Anthony Eden Robinson.

He disclosed that the event will bring together experts, policymakers and other stakeholders from across the nation particularly Ogbia Kingdom to discuss the most pressing issues facing the Ogbia Kingdom and her people including insecurity and kingdom peace and co-existence to leadership, mentorship and sustainable development.

He also said the summit will feature a wide range of presentations, panels, and unveilings with sessions covering a broad spectrum of topics, including unity in diversity, sustainable development, peacebuilding, entrepreneurial development, leadership mentorships, and more.

According to Robinson, there will also be ample opportunities for networking and collaboration, as participants from different sectors and backgrounds come together to share their ideas and experiences.

One of the main goals of the Ogbia Summit 2023 is to foster greater collaboration and cooperation among different stakeholders including government at all levels, community leaders, political leaders across party lines, religious leaders, youth leaders, and Civil Society Organizations, he added.

He believes that these groups can leverage their unique strengths and perspectives to achieve shared goals and make a real difference in Ogbia Kingdom and beyond.

“Ultimately, the Ogbia Summit 2023 is about creating a conducive and favourable environment for people to live in unity and work together to overcome the challenges that stand in the way of peace, prosperity, and sustainability, and chart a course towards building a cohesive Ogbia Kingdom which would, in turn, mark the beginning of a new phase of accelerated progress and development,” he noted.

The statement further invites the general public to the event, promising participants of an eventful summit.
