Police nab Rivers federal lawmaker with foreign currency

Port Harcourt—A member of the House of Representatives, Dr. Chinyere Igwe, has been arrested with an unspecified amount of foreign currencies.

Igwe, who represents Port Harcourt Federal Constituency 2, in the lower chamber of the National Assembly, was arrested on Friday morning along Aba Road in Port Harcourt.

Spokesperson of the Rivers State Police Command, Grace Iringe-Koko, who confirmed the arrest to our correspondent said, “A statement on it will be released soon.

According to the Punch, Igwe is said to be a staunch supporter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.
