Rivers guber: Candidates protest at police headquarters a day to election, accuse Wike of intimidation

Port Harcourt —Just a day before the gubernatorial election in Rivers state, governorship candidates of some political parties in Rivers State on Friday stormed the State Police headquarters, protesting alleged intimidation by Governor Nyesom Wike ahead of Saturday’s election.

The candidates are Senator Magnus Abe of the Social Democratic Party, Tonye Cole, All Progressives Congress, Chief Dumo Lulu-Briggs, Accord and Tonte Ibraye, African Democratic Congress.

According to the Punch, the opposition parties also alleged that their members and supporters were being harassed and arrested by security agencies working for governor Wike and called for the immediate release of all those arrested within this political period.
