Bayelsa women demand 35% participation in governance

Yenagoa—The wife of the Bayelsa state governor, Dr. Gloria Diri, on Tuesday, led a group of women in the state on a walk to demand and re-echo the need for a thirty-five percent affirmative action for women, gender equality, discourage women molestation, and discrimination in the state.

The walk which started from the Bayelsa state House of Assembly Complex in Ekeki Yenagoa was part of activities to mark the 2022 International Women’s Day in the state.

The sensitization walk was tagged “Enough is Enough Endorse The Constitution Women Want.”

Another government official who partook in the walk was the Honourable Commissioner for Women, Children Affairs, Empowerment, and Social Development, Mrs. Faith Opuene.
