Yenagoa—Executive Assistant to Governor Douye Diri of Bayelsa State on Public Affairs and Social Orientation, Barr. George Turnah has appealed to the people of Ogbia Kingdom to support the state government.
Turnah made the appeal when he hosted the leadership of Ogbia Lawyers Forum at his residence in Yenagoa, the state capital.
According to him, Governor Diri has shown strong commitment towards the development of Ogbia Kingdom.
He pointed out that this is evident in the governor’s spread of projects and strategic engagement of notable sons and daughters of the area.
Turnah stated that with their unflinching support, they stand to benefit massively from the state government.
The governor’s aide also urged them to be united to achieve the objectives of the forum.
Responding, leader of the forum, Barr. Nelson Abali commended Governor Diri for his leadership style and for appointing legal practitioners into positions of trust in his administration.
He also called for more cooperation between the government and the forum.
The high point of the visit was the donation of several copies of law books to the forum by Turnah and his formal registration as a member of the forum.
