Yenagoa—The Bayelsa State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has urged party members to be calm and united as it takes steps in addressing recent court injunction to stop its congress.
Alabo Martins, Secretary of the party’s Caretaker Committee in the state, made this known while addressing newsmen on the recent development.
He condemned the actions of some persons he termed unscrupulous elements, who are party members by day but Judases at night, and whose sole aim is to cause tension and disunity in the party.
While expressing sadness over the recent development, Martins assured party members that the matter will be tackled head-on to create a stronger APC.
Martins maintained that as a law-abiding party, the APC will not take laws into its hands by going against the court injunction.
Admonishing party faithfuls to remain calm, he assured them that the litigation will be handled before going ahead with the congress to ensure that it is hitch free.
He stressed that the party will not delay in taking disciplinary action on any member who deliberately sabotages the efforts of the party in conducting the congress.
While soliciting for support from members, Martins urged them to channel their grievances to the appropriate quarters at the party secretariat.
Mangrovepen.ng recalls that a Bayelsa State High Court, on Friday, granted an ex parte order stopping the conduct of the state, local government and ward congress of the APC.
