Brass—A youth leader, Mr. Robert Desmond, has debunked claims made by one Diepreye Pinklady Wilson on Facebook that he is set to dump the All Progressives Congress (APC).
In a statement on Saturday, Desmond stressed that he remains a
“bonafide, die-hard member of the APC,” adding that, “he remains “committed and loyal” to the leadership of the party.
He accused those against his political interests of being behind the publication, in a bid to pit him against Chief Timipre Sylva, minister of state for petroleum resources.
His words: “Ordinarily, I would disregard the untrue statements from the said Facebook account but doing so at this material time would only mean concurrence to the blatant lies published against me, hence my decision to set the records straight.
“Let me state unequivocally that I remain a bonafide, die-hard member of the APC. Also, I remain committed and loyal, just like I have always been, to the leadership of the party in Bayelsa State.
“It is crystal clear that the insinuations cum accusations are being sponsored by those who have always been against my political interest and progress in the party.
“This time, their mission is to tarnish my image and pit me against my father, leader and mentor, His Excellency Chief Timipre Sylva.”
Desmond, who is the founder of the New Face of Brass, noted that the goodness of Chief Timipre Sylva towards him has made some persons jealous, hence the malicious attacks against him.
Reaffirming his loyalty to the APC and Chief Timipre Sylva, Desmond enjoined members of the public to “disregard the nefarious insinuations and lies” published against him.
“The love and care showered upon me by the honourable minister of state for petroleum resources remain a nightmare to them, so they are all out to spoil my solid relationship with my master.
“Personally, the leader of Bayelsa APC, Chief Timipre Sylva, has been very good to me and I am also very satisfied with his leadership style. Thus I cannot even imagine leaving for another party.
“The public should therefore, disregard the nefarious insinuations and lies published against me. I have no reason to leave my APC. Those who are sponsoring lies against me are only afraid of my progress, as they have always been.
“I remain a firm member and believer of the APC and its ideals. I remain under the tutelage of our mentor, the Azana 1,” he stated.
