Odoni—High Chief Michael Biboebi Akata (Opu-Ala of Odoni Kingdom) through the Late Sir M.O Akata Foundation has donated 2,200 branded exercise books to primary and secondary school students in Odoni Kingdom, Sagbama Local Government Area, Bayelsa state.
Handing over the books to the schools, HRH Stephen Pere Albert, Abubu (III) of Odoni kingdom, described High Chief Micheal Akata as a “humanitarian with a proven track record.”
The King, who expressed gratitude to High Chief Micheal Biboebi Akata for his kind gesture, also called on well-meaning sons and daughters of the kingdom to emulate his footsteps.
The traditional ruler appreciated High Chief Micheal Biboebi Akata for his “generosity and magnanimity.”
Speaking, the Director of the Late Sir M.O Akata Foundation, Mr Timipa Siloko Siasia thanked Jo-Ant Nig Ltd for their partnership in making the programme a success.
Siasia revealed that in line with Governor Douye Diri’s policy on education, the Late Sir M.O Akata Foundation in partnership with Jo-ant Nig Ltd will soon be awarding a yearly N100,000 scholarship.
According to him, “the scholarship will be awarded to deserving undergraduates from Odoni Kingdom with a good CGPA in their 100 Level.”
