OPU-NEMBE-The newly-installed Amayanabo of Opu Nembe Kingdom in Bayelsa State, HRM King Biobelemoye Josiah, Ogbodo VIII, has said he will be friendly to those who have the interest of the kingdom at heart.
He said this while addressing a cross-section of chiefs, deputy chiefs, elders, women and youths at the Opu Nembe Civic Center.
King Josiah, who had earlier attended the thanksgiving service held at the First Baptist Church, thanked the people of Opu Nembe for their peaceful conduct during the election that enthroned him as well as the formal chalking rites which lasted for seven days.
“I thank you with a heart full of joy. I am not the oldest, I am not the wisest, I am not the biggest, yet you elected me to rule a great kingdom like Opu Nembe that has been existing for many years.
“Today, being Sunday, I make a vow that I will not lead you astray.
“I will be a friend to anyone who comes to discuss things that will move Opu Nembe forward. And if I realize that your discussions with me will not greatly benefit the kingdom, then I will frown at you.
“I will respect everybody that deserves respect. I will respect the council of chiefs and their deputies accordingly. I will also respect the elders, women, and youths as well,” King Josiah said.
