Know the five reasons why people fail – and become successful

Failure often comes with a frustrating feeling that can make you feel worthless, like refuse discarded in a bin.

Needless to say, I have had my share of failures which have fortunately left me better than I was.

After several years of struggling to actualize my personal goals, I’ve realized I was doing most of the things that attract failure while doing little of the things that bring success.

Please don’t do these five things if you wish to succeed:

1. Lack of strong desires: Before now, I didn’t know a weak desire is a fertile ground for failure. Desire is to success as charcoal is to fire. And all successes have their root in desire.

Many still don’t know the importance of desire, so they don’t desire much. Worst still, some only hope, wish, and pray but don’t desire strongly.

The good thing about having a strong desire is that it impels you to draft a workable plan to reach your goals. The weaker your desires, the higher your chances of failing.

2. Negative Mindset: Failure always tows the path of positivity, and only those who ply that road eventually get to see her horrible face.

More so, failure can be likened to an unrepentant sadist; it loves visiting those who have doubts and are pessimistic.

Most people–even when they are putting in the needed effort–don’t have the conviction that their plans will come to fruition. They keep fearing that their plans will fail until the failure eventually becomes a reality.

3. Procrastination: Nothing causes failure like procrastination. Thing is, most failures hardly plan and take decisions promptly. All they say is “I will do it later,” hoping to have the perfect time to do those things that would help them reach their goals. Such persons tend to forget there’s never a “perfect” time. Maybe there is such a time in Wonderland that I’m not aware of. Lol.

4. No Self-discipline: Failures always like to work on their plans only when it’s convenient. They cannot get up and act when it seems inconvenient for them. Successful people do what needs to be done whether they feel like it or not. So you must be ready to do so too, that is if you are aiming for success.

5. Lack of persistence: Success cannot come without some persistent efforts. Lack of persistence is perhaps the major reason why people fail to succeed. Failure comes when you stop working to reach your goal(s).

Most musicians, artistes, writers, footballers, fashion designers, etc., are succeeding because they keep doing what they know how to do. There is no lasting success without persistence.
