NCDMB awards winners of 8th science quiz competition

The Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), Engr. Felix Omatsola Ogbe, has described the 8th NCDMB Science Quiz Competition for secondary schools in Bayelsa State as a flagship initiative fostering early interest in science among students.

The NCDMB Executive Secretary stated this when the Board hosted the Award of Prizes for the Quiz Competition on Wednesday at the Nigerian Content Tower, Yenagoa.

Ogbe, who was represented by the General Manager, Corporate Communications/Zonal Coordination, Esueme Dan Kikile, emphasized the quize alignment with NCDMB’s mandate to build local capacities in the oil and gas industry.

He expressed optimism that participants’ performance would reflect in their external examinations.

Kikile also appreciated NTA Yenagoa and the Science Teachers Association of Nigeria (STAN) for their dedication to the project’s success.

In her goodwill message, Mrs. Daoju Whyte, General Manager of NTA Yenagoa, commended NCDMB’s consistent investment in human capacity development.

She encouraged students to seize such opportunities and urged the winners to inspire others.

The Quiz Master, Mr. Okpobo Richman, praised NCDMB for sustaining the competition, calling it a platform for students and schools to excel.

He also thanked the quiz team for their contributions to a successful event.

Best Breed International Academy, Okaka, won the competition, while Benny International School, Akenpai and Federal Government Girls College, Imiringi, emerged as first and second runner-up, respectively.

Mr. Okpobo Richman was also recognized with an award.

Other persons who attended the event include; Mr. Joseph Adebayo, Senior Manager, Projects, NCDMB, Ifeanyi Nwokemodo, Supervisor, Media, and other NCDMB staff.
