Belemote felicitates Diri, deputy for 5yrs in office

The Bayelsa State Commissioner for Community Development, Hon. Watson Alfred Belemote, and the Permanent Secretary, Mr. Naten M. E. Opuene on behalf of the Ministry has felicitated Governor Douye Diri and his Deputy, Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo on their five years in office.

The commissioner made the felicitations in a congratularory message made available to newsmen on Thursday.

He thanked the governor for finding him worthy to serve under his administration and be a part of his executive cabinet.

“It’s a rare privilege that must not be taken for granted, but then, with all alacrity,” Belemote noted.

He lauded the Bayelsa State government for its remarkable achievements in infrastructural development, human capital development, youths and women empowerment programs.

The commissioner also hailed the governor for being civil servant friendly, adding that the state has witnessed tremendous development in the five years of the Prosperity administration.

“Bayelsa State is at the zenith of the table with the peace being enjoyed in the state as a result of the peaceful disposition of our governor and his deputy,” the Commissioner added.

The commissioner in the message also revealed the number of projects the ministry is undertaking.

He said, “As a Ministry, we are constructing 34 7by400 concrete walkway in 34 communities across the state, and ably supported by the governor

“Some of the completed 7/400 walkway road projects and their locations are; Ndoro in Ekeremor LGA, Otuegwe 2 in Ogbia LGA, Oloibiri in Ogbia LGA, Ebedebiri in Sagbama LGA, Anyama Ibeni in Sagbama LGA, Agbere in Sagbama LGA, Angiama in Sagbama LGA, Ezetu 1 in Southern Ijaw LGA, Opuama in Southern Ijaw LGA, Koroama (Gbarain) in Yenagoa LGA and Agbura in Yenagoa LGA

“Some of the ongoing walkway roads and their locations are; Ogu-ama in Nembe LGA, Onuebum in Ogbia LGA, Twon, Brass in Brass LGA, Ewoama in Brass LGA, Okpoama in Brass LGA, Die-ama in Brass LGA.”

The commissioner further stated that all projects under execution would not have been possible without the support of the state government, adding that it only demonstrates the commitment and dedication of the Prosperity Administration in bringing prosperity to the people.

While urging all Bayelsans to support the government in achieving it’s agenda for the state, Belemote prayed for God’s blessing, wisdom, knowledge, guidance, and protection upon the Governor, his deputy and their respective families.

“There is the need for us to galvanise ourselves and have a united front irrespective of party divide and affiliations, as Bayelsa State belongs to us all,” he said.
