Dr. Daniel Charles, the member representing Brass Constituency I in the Bayelsa State House of Assembly has expressed gratitude to his constituents for their support.
The lawmaker in a new year message shared on his official Facebook page said it is the support of his constituents that inspires him to deliver the dividends of democracy as their representative.
While acknowledging that the preceding year was challenging for most Nigerians, he made the point that gratitude must be given to God for preserving those alive to see the new year.
The lawmaker added that many opportunities abound in the new year.
Charles further reeled out some of the projects he executed as well as his achievements in the year 2024.
“Regardless of the challenges of last year, we were able to facilitate some projects, including the construction of the 425/7.5m jetty road in Twon Brass, a corpers lodge in Liama, a walkway in St. Barnabas School compound in Twon Brass, a corpers lodge in Egweama (ongoing), and a modern toilet facility with borehole in Beletieama.
“We also facilitated the establishment of a modern primary school in Twon Brass, paid for the registration of SSCE (WAEC) for 50 students, and also gave scholarships to 20 undergraduates and 2 postgraduate students who really needed financial assistance.
“Just some weeks ago, we concluded a quiz and spelling bee competition that was organized for secondary school students across Brass Constituency I. The educational programme helped us to discover some young geniuses we are blessed with.
“As promised in my last New Year message, we prioritized education and equally attracted far-reaching infrastructural projects to our communities, as well as gave out welfare packages to our people as it has been our tradition,” he stated.
The lawmaker thanked Governor Douye Diri, his deputy, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, and the Speaker of the Bayelsa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Abraham Ingobere for their support in his execution of the afforementioned projects and programmes.
