Group calls for arrest, prosecution of Tompolo, Otuaro’s slanderers

The Centre for Civic Public Awareness (CCPA), has warned those it described as ‘beneficiaries of oil theft’ to desist from making defamatory comments against the chairman of Tantita Security Services Limited, High Chief Government Ekpemupolo, (Tompolo), and the administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, PAP, Dr. Dennis Otuaro.

The CCPA—a non-governmental organization issued the caution in a statement made available to newsmen on

The group commended Tompolo and Otuaro in their impactive and courageous efforts to curb illegal bunkering and end its negative effect on Nigeria’s economy.

It stressed that the duo deserves commendation for their unwavering stance against oil theft and protection of strategic national assets in the interest of the Nigerian state.

The group however expressed deep worry over the dangerous impact of oil bunkering which has destroyed the Niger Delta environment as well as caused avoidable deaths and sabotaged the economy of the country

The group therefore condemned those it tagged economic saboteurs and their beneficiaries.

The CCPA added that it is the same persons who have resorted to defame Tompolo and his associates because of their patriotic fight against crude oil theft.

The group thus called on the Police, DSS, and other relevant security agencies to apprehend and prosecute those peddling falsehood and misleading information as well as cyber bullying Tompolo and Otuaro in the media space.

“Tompolo, Otuaro, and their associates are being targeted for their dedication to eliminating pipeline vandalisation and crude oil theft in the Niger Delta region”

“Suffice it to say that the only grouse these persons have against Tompolo and his associates is that they have rendered their criminal businesses unprofitable and useless,” the statement partly read
