Ex-agitator hails admission of PAP scholarship beneficiaries, lauds Otuaro’s leadership

The Public Relations Officer for the phase one leadership of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP) phase one, Toriomo Yerindideke Excel, aka leader Monday, has hailed recipients of the programme’s scholarship scheme from Egwe Kingdom in Cape Formosa Island of Bayelsa State over their university admission.

In a statement on Tuesday, Excel congratulated the youths for getting the rare opportunity to pursue their educational goals for free courtesy of the Amnesty Office.

The statement partly reads, “I, Toriomo Yerindideke Excel, aka leader Monday rejoice with Cape formoso Island Egwe Kingdom’s future leaders on their admission into private universities! Their academic excellence and resilience shine bright.

“A personal encounter with one scholar left me inspired. Her wisdom, emotional intelligence and kindness embody the kingdom’s promising future.

“I am happy that they are now beneficiaries of the PAP scholarship scheme.”

The ex-agitator praised the PAP Administrator, Dr. Denis Otuaro, for continuing the scholarship programme and also making it all-inclusive

He noted that several persons from the creeks have just gotten the privilege to build capacity in reputable higher institutions via the PAP scholarship.

According to him, Niger Delta would produce more extraordinary minds if this tempo is sustained.

“For long I have been yearning for someone who was a part and parcel of the struggle to head the Amnesty Office and today we have Chief (Dr) Dennis Otuaro on the saddle and he is not disappointing us in any way.

“Dr. Otuaro understands the niger delta concern for development, peace and capacity building and he attending to them via the PAP.

“It’s good to see how he is consulting Royal fathers, critical stakeholders including women and youths of the region to meet our collective needs as a people.”

Toriomo recalled that “Nelson Mandela said if you want to keep your people in darkness hide education from them. Education is key to every aspect of human life and it is scriptural, as Scripture also urges us to study to show ourselves approved.

“That is why I commend the scholarships that have been given to eligible Niger Deltans.”

The Bayelsa-born ex-freedom fighter called on all delegates and stakeholders of the programme to keep supporting and praying for the Amnesty boss to succeed on his mandate.

He further thanked President Bola Tinubu and the National Security Adviser Mallam Nuhu Ribadu for giving Otuaro the privilege to function optimally.
