Police confirm murder of local vigilante member in Rivers

The Rivers State Police Command has confirmed the killing of a member of a local vigilante group, Onelga Security Peace and Advisory Committee, OSPAC, in Igwuruta community, Ikwerre Local Government Area.

Police identified the victim as Prince.

The Command’s Public Relations Officer, Grace Iringe-Koko, stated that an investigation is ongoing to apprehend those responsible and ensure they face justice.

Daily Post reports that OSPAC members responded to a kidnapping distress call and were ambushed by unknown gunmen, resulting in Prince’s death.

The incident caused panic in the community.

The deceased’s body has been taken to an undisclosed mortuary as the investigation commences.
