The Doubara Kumokou-led Prosperity Youth Coalition (PYC) has felicitated Governor Douye Diri of Bayelsa State on the event of his 65th birthday anniversary.
The group noted that Bayelsa youths can not keep mute on the occasion of his birthday due to his style of leadership, prudent management of public funds, and development of the state.
A statement by its secretary general, Ayebakuro Igbeta, the group noted that they understand his directive to Bayelsans not to celebrate him is borne out of modesty.
“The intention that informed your directive is appreciated in every letter, but we the vast majority of the populace you stand firmly for, must have to rally round our personal resources and appreciate the good God for the gift of life for your calibre of personality in these very trying times to pilot our affairs as a state.
“In these past few years of your Prosperity Administration, you have against all odds recreated the Bayelsa identity as one of the most secure state for Foreign Direct Investment (FDI).
“A home characterized as a peace-loving and hardworking people, which had rekindled investors’ confidence as to the safety of our cities, towns and waterways thereby creating an enabling environment for businesses to thrive and create wealth for our people,” the statement read partly.
While noting that Bayelsa youths have been impacted by thoughtful policies, programmes and various affirmative actions of his administration, they noted that Diri has also given room for youths to grow.
The statement prayed God to reward him with good health, greater vision and wisdom as he celebrates.
