Charles extols Sambo Foundation for issuing scholarships to 110 students so far

Bayelsa lawmaker, Dr. Daniel Charles, has hailed HRH Samuel Sambo, the Amadabo of Sambo-Ama in Twon Brass Kingdom, for awarding scholarships to indigent students in the Niger Delta region.

The lawmaker gave the commendation through a press statement issued on Tuesday in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital.

Charles who described the traditional ruler as his father and king said the scholarship scheme via the Sambo Foundation has positively impacted the lives of the beneficiaries and given them a new zeal to focus on their studies.

“I am aware that His Royal Highness has through the Sambo Foundation continued to be a source of dream come through to numerous indigent students.

“What he is doing for these students from Rivers, Bayelsa and other states is very commendable, to say the least,” he said.

The legislator noted that there is no better way to champion the growth and development of young people than investing in their future through quality education.

Charles who is representing Brass Constituency I in the Bayelsa State House of Assembly admitted that he is not so surprised by the monarch’s kind gesture and contributions to education because he has always known him to be a lover of education.

According to the lawmaker, “I’ve always known him to be a lover of education, particularly quality education.

“These scholarships did not start now; he has been supporting students for several years ago, even before establishing the Sambo Foundation that was officially launched last year.

“As his son and subject, I am proud of the benevolence of His Royal Highness towards others.”

Charles therefore prayed for the monarch to remain sufficiently blessed and inspired to continue his good deeds for the less privileged in the oil-rich region and beyond.

The Sambo Foundation has so far awarded scholarships to 90 university students and also 20 students who are studying at the National Teachers Institute (NTI).
