Easter: show love, make peace with others, says Bayelsa council boss Karika

The Chairman of the Brass Local Government Council, Hon. Alabo Hanson Karika has called for forgiveness, love, and peace among Brassians in the spirit of the Easter season.

In a statement released today, Karika felicitated the people and thanked God for the opportunity to see another Easter.

He stressed that Easter is a season to show love, forgiveness, and compassion to one another in line with the teachings of Jesus Christ.

“Easter is the season in which Christians mark the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. This season represents the triumph of good over evil; and life over death.

“It is also a time to show love, forgiveness, compassion, and empathy to one another as well as a time to make peace with all men.

“I therefore call on you, the good people of Brass, to emulate the Christ-like traits of peace, love, and forgiveness in the spirit of the Easter season.

“Let us also use the opportunity of this special season to reflect on and imbibe the teachings of Christ which also includes making peace with all men and loving one another,” he stated.

Karika commended those who have supported his administration since its inception, noting that he feels privileged to have been leading the good, brilliant and enlightened people of Brass LGA.

“Your support has been invaluable and has been a tonic to expend our best effort in our task. We are immensely grateful.

“I urge our people to remain peaceful and even charitable to others especially the less privileged, not just during festivities but whenever we can.

“May this year’s Easter celebration bring us all that we desire as a people including prosperity, peace and all-round success,” the statement concluded.
