Bayelsa Doctor Igali-Olali congratulates Omietimi on his appointment as CMD of FMC Yenagoa

Dr. Jane Igali-Olali, an Abuja-based Bayelsa medical doctor has congratulated Dr. James Enimi Omietimi on his appointment as Chief Medical Director of the Federal Medical Centre, Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, for an initial term of four (4) years.

This is following the approval of his appointment by President Bola Tinubu on Thursday.

Igali-Olali in a terse congratulatory message sent to Mangrovepen.ng shortly after the news of his appointment described Dr. Omietimi as a father, teacher and friend whom she has known for many years and therefore can attest to his competence, medical experiences and integrity.

She likened his appointment to putting a round peg in a round hole, adding that Omietimi is well-deserving of the role given his show of professionalism, hard work, and commitment over the years.

She further expressed confidence in the new chief medical director to steer the medical facility in the right direction and wished him well in his new role.

“I am very excited about this appointment because I’ve known Dr. James for many years as a father, teacher and friend and can attest to his integrity and intelligence.

“He has worked so hard over the years, oozing great commitment and professionalism to save lives, so this is a well-deserving appointment.

“I am confident that FMC Yenagoa under Dr. Omietimi will be heading in the right direction and I wish him all the best in this great task,” the message partly read.

Dr. Omietimi is an accomplished medical professional. He graduated from the University of Port Harcourt in 1994 with a Bachelor of Medicine, and Bachelor of Surgery degree (MBBS), and began his medical career with a specialization in Obstetrics and Gynaecology.

He has held various leadership positions, including President of the Association of Resident Doctors and Chairman of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) in Bayelsa State.

He is also a fellow of the West African College of Surgeons and the International College of Surgeons
