The immediate past spokesman of the Ijaw Youth Council (IYC), Comrade Ebilade Ekerefe has congratulated Governor Douye Diri of Bayelsa State and his deputy, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo on their successful second term inauguration.
He commended Diri for his non-partisan approach to governance, peace and stability in the state.
The former IYC spokesman who made this known in a statement on Thursday hailed the governor for “putting the state on the world map through his initiatives that aim to attract rapid foreign direct investments.”
Ekerefe who is the leader of New Era Movement, appreciated “Bayelsans, especially the youths for standing tall in the defense of democracy by ensuring that Diri and his deputy are re-elected.”
While praying for the governor to consolidate the gains of his achievements in his first term, he further expressed confidence that youths will be adequately integrated into the governance in his second term.
Ekerefe who served as a Special Adviser on youth mobilization to the governor, appreciated Diri for his commitment to building young people who have shown capacity, competence and character.
