The Yenagoa Branch of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) has felicitated Governor Douye Diri and his deputy, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo over their successful swearing-in for a second term in office.
Diri and Ewhrudjakpo took the oath of office and oath of allegiance for a second term at Sports Complex in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital on Wednesday.
In a statement signed by the publicity secretary of NSE Yenagoa branch, Engr. Elvis Donkemezuo, the engineers expressed happiness over continuity noting that the second term reign will ensure the continuation of various projects in the state.
The engineers also expressed confidence that Diri’s second term reign will see the completion of many infrastructural projects embarked upon by the self-styled prosperity government across the state.
“It is with great happiness that we extend our deepest felicitations to Governor Douye Diri and his deputy, Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo on their inauguration as governor and deputy governor respectively for a second term in office.
“We are confident that as Diri and his deputy embark on this new term, Bayelsa State will continue to enjoy the good governance the prosperity government has instituted in the state.
“We also want Diri to include professional registered engineers in his cabinet especially critical areas relating to our profession will see to the fulfilment of his campaign promises to the Bayelsa people as well as the completion of the many infrastructural projects he has embarked on in his first tenure,” the statement partly read.
Donkemezuo said that as a professional body, “NSE is ready to partner with the state government to ensure that our members are carried along in the scheme of things and also render our professional services whenever they are needed.”
