Tinubu pledges support for Niger-Delta’s development

Abuja—President Bola Tinubu has pledged his support for the complete execution of projects and programmes aimed at fostering sustainable development in the Niger Delta region and enhancing the well-being of its residents.

This commitment was revealed in a statement issued on Sunday, January 14, by Osigwe Omo-Ikirodah, the special assistant to the minister of Niger Delta Development, and made available to journalists at the State House, Abuja.

According to Omo-Ikirodah, the president pledged after a crucial meeting with the Minister of Niger Delta Development, Abubakar Momoh.

He said: “The Minister gave a comprehensive update on the ongoing activities and initiatives within the Niger Delta Development Ministry to the President and also seeking for support and commitment towards the President in the development of the Niger Delta region of the country.

“During the meeting, Momoh highlighted major projects and initiatives undertaken by the Niger Delta Development Ministry to improve the socio-economic landscape of the region.

“He also presented a detailed overview of ongoing infrastructure projects, community development programs, and efforts to address environmental concerns in the Niger Delta.”

Omo-Ikirodah further stated that the president expressed interest and lauded the efforts of the Minister in changing the narratives in the Niger Delta Region of the country.

He added that the Niger Delta Development Ministry would leverage on the commitments from President Tinubu to further advance its mission of fostering holistic development, infrastructure enhancement, and community empowerment in the Niger Delta region.
