Diri is better, says Brass council boss, rallies support for Gov’s re-election

Hon. Alabo Hanson

Brass—The Chairman of Brass Local Government Council, Hon. Alabo Hanson Karika has said Governor Douye Diri remains the best choice for the November 11 Bayelsa governorship election.

In a statement by the his spokesman, Alfred Obuala, Karika urged people of the area to come out in large numbers to vote for the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

“The coming election is very critical to Brass because it will greatly decide our fate as a people.

“We all know how the candidate of the main opposition party failed us despite the rare privileges he has enjoyed both at the state and federal levels,” Karika said.

Karika further said that no well-meaning person from the area will be deceived to vote for another candidate except Governor Diri, noting that the governor has performed well and deserves a second term in office.

According to him, “Today, Governor Diri has brought lasting peace, harmony and development to the nooks and crannies of Bayelsa State.

“Our greatest delight as Brass people is the unrelenting efforts he is putting to ensure that Brass Island is connected to the rest of the world by road.

“This was the same road our brother could not prioritize. He forgot that the road would not only yield many economic benefits but also reduce the ugly trend of sea piracy to the barest minimum.”

The Brass Caretaker Chairman expects the people of Brass not to be deceived by the main opposition party, insisting that its leaders only remember the people during elections.

“They build walls around themselves and became inaccessible while they were in office. Now they have suddenly remembered Brass people because they need their votes.”

He insisted that Governor Diri is better for the Brass people and feels convinced that the Bayelsa helmsman will “ensure the completion of the Nembe-Brass road that will give life to the blue economy.”
