APC has no legitimate concrete plan to win Bayelsa guber, says Adaminegbe, tips Diri for victory

Nembe—A former youth president of Okoroma clan in Nembe Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, Hon. Meremubio Adaminegbe has dumped the All Progressives Congress (APC) and declared support for the re-election bid of Governor Douye Diri.

Adaminegbe who is the founder of the political group, Sylva Bounce Back, was accepted into the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) by Diri during the party’s Nembe Constituency 1 campaigns in Ologoama on Wednesday.

In an exclusive interview with Mangrovepen.ng, Adaminegbe lamented that his stay in the APC has been a complete waste of time.

Bayelsa APC has a bad reward system and lacks proactive leadership as well as inclusiveness, with many stakeholders not carried along to contribute towards the success of the party, said the former councillor of Nembe Ward 10.

According to him, “It has been 12 years of loyalty and commitment without political reward. I was sent to prison during the 2015 general election and also lost my 90-year-old grandmother due to an attack after my arrest in her presence.

“I sponsored the Sylva Bounce Back campaign group with over N30 million in the 2015 governorship election campaign without any political reward.

“Chief Timipre Sylva has abandoned most of the founding members of the APC that stood with him during his political wilderness.

“When Sylva was denied the second term ambition for the governor of Bayelsa State under PDP, we risked our lives and livelihoods including that of family members to support him when the majority of political associates abandoned him.

“Today he has proven beyond reasonable doubt that following or supporting his political ambition is like playing the popular naira bet game that one is not sure of.”

He likened Bayelsa APC to a one-man business venture where only the leader decides on everything, “so, even when he is wrong, there is no way to correct the error in the interest of the party.

“I realized that I can’t function well in such a disorganized political environment where my interest and that of my followers is not guaranteed. We therefore deliberated extensively and decided to pitch our tenth with the PDP.”

Adaminegbe believes that Bayelsa APC cannot win the November 11 election, insisting that, up till now, “APC has no legitimate concrete plan to galvanize voters to attain victory.”

The Okoroma-born politician argued that the PDP is more organised and prepared to win elections, adding that “the many achievements of Governor Diri have greatly increased the party’s chances of winning the forthcoming election.”
