Yenagoa—The Agoro Progressive Youths Forum (APYF) has congratulated the former Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Sagbama Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, Comrade Preye Bagou, on his appointment as Technical Assistant to the Bayelsa State Governor on Special Duties.
Preye Bagou who is an indigene of Agoro, Agorogbene, and Ogobiri communities respectively, all in ward eleven (11) under Sagbama Local Government Area defected to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in August and was received back to the party by Governor Douye Diri at Government House, Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital.
The group’s spokesperson, Engr. Dennis Bagou, while speaking during a stakeholders meeting in Agoro community described Preye Bagou’s appointment as a square peg in a square hole.
He said that given Preye’s wealth of knowledge, experience, and capability, he does not doubt that he will perform beyond the expectations of his office.
He commended Governor Diri for finding an illustrious son of the community worthy to serve in his government.
“The appointment is a well-deserved political upliftment and recognition of a committed, consistent, talented, and efficacious activist, which is a great welcome development and step in the right direction towards preparing and building the youths for effective leadership in public offices.”
He continued, “There is no doubt in our mind that the appointee is competent to function effectively in handling the office.
“We know he will promote the developmental strides, policies and programmes of the Governor and the Prosperity Government.”
The group further applauded the Bayelsa State government for the “remarkable level of work done” on the Sagbama-Ekeremor road, including the construction of the Bulou-Orua-Toru-Ebeni road, which the group’s spokesman said is ongoing and now at sand filling stage to link up several neighboring communities.
The Youth group assured Diri of the community’s total support to ensure the victory of the Governor and his Deputy, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo in the November 11th gubernatorial election in the state.
