Yenagoa—Ahead of the November 11 gubernatorial election, a media aide to the Bayelsa State governor, John Domkpee has listed some reasons why his principal should be returned to office.
Domkpee in a statement issued in Yenagoa on Tuesday insisted that supporting Diri’s re-election bid is beyond personal reasons but for the greater good of Bayelsa State.
According to Domkpee, “It is not a lie that the Governor has done remarkably well, as this is evident in the countless meaningful projects he has executed: roads, schools, bridges, health centers, media and sports facilities, vocational training centers, to name but a few.
“He has also initiated agric, educational, health, and other policies and programmes that have made Bayelsans better in so many ways.
“But beyond these achievements is the fact that the Governor has exhibited leadership traits Bayelsa needs at this point in history.
“Governor Diri is making friends and uniting Bayelsans across party lines. He believes that all Bayelsans have an important role to play for prosperity to be felt by all households.
“He does not discriminate based on party or tribal lines. To him, Bayelsa comes first and all Bayelsans regardless of differences are one and the same.”
He added that “Bayelsa which is on the path of development and prosperity does not need violent and vindictive leaders who have severally failed to attract meaningful things to the people.”
