According to him, the November 11 polls signposted the reality and acceptance of the governor by the people of Bayelsa.
He expressed hope for the prosperity administration’s commitment to the development of the state.
He said, “It is heartwarming to witness your inauguration as Governor of Bayelsa and I am grateful to the electorate in Bayelsa for shunning entreaties of retrogressive forces.”

He added that Diri’s love and investment in sports have engaged many youths meaningfully, particularly the prosperity cup.
He noted that the governor’s unparalleled love for sports has given the football tournament a new dimension with more teams and the promotion of scouting programmes as tools for empowering the youth demography in the state.
He stated that the prosperity cup has also given great opportunities for young Bayelsans to pursue their careers at the global level, adding that “presently over five of our talented footballers have been able to break into professional football careers here and abroad.
“In fact, one should be breaking into the celebrated premier league very shortly.”
The statement further stated that plans are at an advanced stage to host another international scouting tournament in the state in March in honour of the second-term inauguration of Governor Douye Diri and his Deputy, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo before the official kick-off of the Prosperity Cup Season 6.
