Ogbia youths throng Ogbuku’s residence, applaud his developmental strides

Yenagoa—Ogbia youths drawn across clans and communities in the kingdom, under the auspices of the Ogbia Brotherhood Youth Council (OBYC) over the weekend welcomed, Chief Samuel Ogbuku, the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) at his Yenagoa residence in Bayelsa State.

The youths who applauded his achievements as NDDC boss within a short period also hailed him for his several strategic engagements and partnership with development partners, stakeholders, organizations and youths within and outside Nigeria.

In his address, Ogbuku promised to expand the commission’s youth development agenda for a more robust reach out.

He also promised to do more in capacity development and empowerment packages as well as to sustain his vigour and commitment to the overall development of the region.

The NDDC helmsman who proposed an all-inclusive meeting with the Ogbia youths averred that “expect much from me, because we have a lot to do for the Niger Delta people, especially as we look forward to implementing the budget of the Commission, meanwhile stay around and enjoy yourself because this is your home.”

On his part, the President of OBYC, Comr. (Amb) Johnny S. Jonathan thanked Ogbuku for his passion, capacity and commitment to the Niger Delta region, which informed the purpose of their solidarity visit.

“It was an all-around electrified atmosphere as the youths defy the rains but were full of joy and appreciation receiving their own and seeing and hearing him talk to them in such an assuring manner,” he said.
