Yenagoa—Ms. Precious Andie, a food vendor based in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, has refuted a post by an online platform, Gist Yentown, that she falsely accused a photographer of stealing ‘Nutri Milk’ from her shop and asked people to assault him.
Precious who made this known in a chat with our reporter maintained that what is insinuated in the said post was the opposite of what transpired at her shop.
The food vendor revealed that “Wisdom Okafor came to my shop with his friends to eat on Sunday,” and alleged that “before making their order, I saw him collecting Vita Milk from the fridge thinking I was not aware.
She continued: “After packaging their order, I gave them the bill including the Vita Milk he took but he denied collecting it. Rather, he accused me of wanting to embarrass him.
“Despite politely telling him to pay for the drink he secretly took, he slapped me and threatened to deal with me. It was my other customers and others who were around that came to my rescue. Thereafter, he was arrested by the police.
According to her, “this is not the first time he has been coming to my shop. There have been times he looked for my trouble and I try as much as possible to avoid having any issues with him since he’s a customer.”
She berated the online platform for the wrong narrative being peddled accusing her of unjustly intimidating the guy without hearing her own side of the story.
In her words: “Bloggers should try and hear from all parties involved in an issue before making their posts to avoid spreading fake news.
“The Gist Yentown mentioned Nutri Milk and I don’t sell that. I sell Vita Milk, water and other drinks along with the food we sell to customers.”
Precious, who is known for selling one of the best noodles and chicken in Yenagoa, maintained that she is in business to serve the public, hence cannot disrespect or accuse any customer wrongly for any reason whatsoever.
“I love all my customers and treat them with love and respect. It’s just sad and painful that he tried to cheat me and instead of owning up denied and slapped me.
“I was just lucky people were around to rescue me and even his friend who was with him had confirmed to the police that he drank the Vita Milk.
“Well, since the police are already investigating the matter I won’t talk much. Let him explain to them why he misbehaved on Sunday and why he always harasses me whenever he comes to my shop,” she said.
