Yenagoa—As the Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Douye Diri marks his 64th birthday, Mr. John Domkpee, the Special Assistant to the Governor on New Media has joined family, friends, followers and other well-wishers in felicitating his principal.
In a goodwill message sent to Mangrovepen.ng on Sunday, Dompkee described Governor Diri as a patriotic Nigerian, Ijaw icon, sterling leader and silent achiever who does not believe in blowing his own trumpet.
The statement noted that: “Without blowing his own trumpets, His Excellency is, through his uncommon developmental strides, gradually winning the hearts of not only his followers and admirers but also political opponents.
“Governor Douye Diri’s peaceful and humane disposition has become a secret weapon, capable of silencing his detractors and unarguably paving the way for his victory come November 11th this year.”
The special assistant called on well-meaning Bayelsans across the globe and residents of the state to support the governor, insisting that the governor “is transforming Bayelsa into an investment haven, particularly by constructing roads that will connect our rural communities to the outside world for economic development.”
Domkpee, who thanked the governor for giving him the opportunity to serve in his administration, hinted that his appointment gave him a sense of belonging in “Project Bayelsa” as well as helped him harness valuable leadership, interpersonal and other skills.
“The Prosperity Government led by Senator Douye Diri has engendered relative peace, unity amongst Bayelsans, and greatly improved the living conditions of the masses,” he maintained.
“I am pleased to join the rest of the world in congratulating my Principal and the Champion of Prosperity for moving the state forward in terms of infrastructural development and human capacity building.
“Let me also use this medium to urge all Bayelsans to put away bitterness and support the God-given leader who has a sincerity of purpose to transform and protect the lives of all Bayelsans irrespective of affiliations,” the statement concluded.
