Yenagoa—The Bayelsa State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has felicitated the Governor of the state, Senator Douye Diri on the occasion of his 64th birthday.
The PDP stated that it is delighted to celebrate the Governor for his giant strides and excellent performance in the last three years.
The party which made this known in a statement signed by the state publicity Secretary, Mr Ebiye Ogoli, added that it is also poised to secure a second term victory for the Governor in the forthcoming Governorship election slated for 11th of November, 2023.
“Additionally, we lend our voice to say that all policy initiatives, decisions and programmes of the Government have been taken in utmost good faith and done so, basically to advance the cause of the good of our people.
“It is therefore expedient for everyone to continue to render unflinching support to the Governor and his team to enable them do more for the betterment of our society.
“As we join His Excellency in this celebration, we should remind ourselves and be thankful for the restoration of peace in many of our communities which had, hitherto been plagued by communal crisis.
“Accordingly, we laud the Governor for his unparalled commitment to peace and peaceful co-existence amongst citizens. We can safely say today, that peace has finally returned to many of our warring communities in the state.
“So far, the Government has performed excellently well in all sectors of the state:s economy – be it in security, agriculture, education, works & infrastructure, commerce, trade & industry, sports, health, entertainment, job creation, human capacity development, women and children issues etc. thus giving citizens renewed sense of hope and tremendous faith for the future,” the statement reads in part.
The PDP while felicitating Diri also prayed God to grant him more years in health, grace, wisdom, courage and strength to provide more dividend of democracy to Bayelsans.
