2023 elections: Youth leader to hold sensitisation campaign in Twon Brass, calls for peaceful conduct

Brass—Ahead of the forthcoming general elections, a former youth president of Twon Brass Kingdom, Engr. Ebiegberi Richson Aboh is set to organise a one-day sensitisation campaign in Twon Brass, headquarters of Brass Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.

The youth leader told Mangrovepen.ng that the programme is in collaboration with the National Union of Twon Brass Students (NUTBS) and is being sponsored by the lawmaker representing Brass-Nembe Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Israel Sunny Goli.

He hinted that the event will be hosted in the Cameron Ama Town Hall in Twon Brass on Saturday 18th February 2023.

In his words: “As part of the campaign, we will organize a youth rally in Twon Brass between 7-9 am on Saturday before the seminar proper at noon.”

The campaign tagged “Be Seen, Be Heard; Youth Participation for Development” will be graced by the Bayelsa State focal person of YIAGA Africa, Comr. Tare Maureen Amananaghan as the guest speaker and Comr. Obuala Ikiomoye Princess—the president of NUTBS.

“Brass youths need to be actively involved in the electoral process, and we believe that the coming elections provide us ample opportunity to vote for our preferred candidates.

“We want to use this programme to not just reecho the need for active youth participation in the electoral process but also commit all Brass youths to conduct themselves peacefully before, during and after the elections,” Aboh said.

Mangrovepen.ng recalls that, in 2018, the Ebiegberi Aboh-led Federated Youth Council of Twon Brass organised a one-day community sensitization programme against drug abuse with the theme “Know The Drugs You Take.”
