IYC Spokesperson, Ekerefe gets ‘Outstanding Youth Leader of the Year’ award

Yenagoa—Spokesman of Ijaw Youth Council (IYC), Comr. Ebilade Ekerefe has bagged an award of excellence as the Most Outstanding Ijaw Youth Leader of the year 2022.

Also recognised for their laudable contributions towards the progress of the Ijaw Nation is the wife of the Governor of Bayelsa State, Justice Patience Ama Zoufa Diri and HRH King Bubaraye Dakolo, Chairman Bayelsa State Traditional Rulers Council and Paramount Ruler of Gbarain-Ekpetiama Kingdom

Other honourees include Rt. Hon. Tonye Emmanuel Isenah, Fmr. Speaker Bayelsa State House of Assembly and Member representing KOLGA Constituency 1 amongst others.

The award, which was presented at the Ijaw Men and Women Rocks Award Conference 2022, was organised by the Ijaw Women of Substance Worldwide.

The Founder of the organisation, Kemelayefa Mercy Ogege in her remarks disclosed that Ijaw Women of Substance Worldwide is an NGO that promotes and celebrates Ijaw Women who have brought light and beauty to society through their careers and occupations in promoting the Ijaw cultures and traditions.

She disclosed that, in the coming year, the organisers would set out an agenda to carry out medical outreaches and donate books and other gifts that will spur Ijaw girls to develop themselves in the society.

In his remarks after receiving the award from the Chairman of the Bayelsa State Traditional Rulers Council, HRH King Bubaraye Dakolo, Comr. Ebilade appreciated the organizers for finding him worthy as the Most Outstanding Youth Leader of the Year and pledged his total commitment to the service of his people.

He dedicated the award to God almighty who gave him the enablement to inspire hope.
