IYC postpones Educational Summit to honour late member

Yenagoa—The Ijaw Youth Council (IYC), Central Zone has postponed its maiden Educational Summit scheduled to hold on the 22nd – 24th September 2023 due to activities surrounding the council.

The Educational Summit with the theme “Inclusive and Equitable Quality Education: The pathway for Sustainable Development in the Niger Delta” according to the council was postponed because of the burial of Miss Izon-ere, who is a active member of the zone.

In a statement by the Student Representative of the Council, Ginah Williams Ikio, “the 22nd which is the proposed date for the event to kickstart, our supportive sister Miss. Izon-Ere will be buried and so, the zone will be mourning with the deceased family.

He revealed that another reason for the postponement was because of the National Constitutional Convention slated to hold on 24th September.

While apologizing for the inconveniences caused by the postponement, he promised that a new date for the event will be communicated soon.
